Sunset Overlook Constructed in 2008 at the highest point on the Land Trust, this deck offers a view of sunset over downtown Atlanta, which is slowly disappearing as trees grow taller and new buildings are constructed across the tracks. It is wheelchair-accessible via a brick path. It also shelters a 1600-gallon water tank that stores water from the solar-powered well, used by gardeners along the Dekalb Path via gravity-fed hoses. The tank was purchased with a grant from Atlanta Girl’s School in 2008. In ???? it was re-decked with recycled lumber donated by ???? in memory of her dog ????, memorialized on a plaque beside the steps. The flat area below the Overlook is used by arts and craft vendors during fundraising festivals and by fire performers during Drum Circles.
